You need to keep crews in line and projects on time. CompanyCam has the tools to help.
Here are some tips to streamline your day-to-day operations using our in-app features and functions.
Create Detailed Projects
Project managers are expert jugglers, managing multiple projects, teams, and personalities. The more details you include within your project, the fewer items you’ll have up in the air.
Here are some tips for adding more details to projects:
Standard naming convention. Name your projects consistently using an invoice number, customer name, or something else.
Descriptions & contact info. Add essential details, like an overview of the work, garage codes, pets on site, and a way for your crew to contact customers.
Assign users. Once you’ve added some context, assign your team members who will be on-site so they know exactly where to be.
Upload Documents. Upload the scope of work, change orders, plans, and more so your team can access the info without buzzing your phone.
Simplify Setup with Templates
This Premium feature cuts the time it takes to create projects in half by creating different Project Templates for the various types of jobs your team takes on, complete with your most-used checklists and reports:
Checklist Templates. Make sure your SOPs for estimators, installers, and other teams are ready for them to work through once they arrive on site.
Report Templates. Decrease the time it takes your team to create bids and leave-behinds for clients by outlining everything they need to include.
Project Templates. Create different templates for different jobs and teams involved.
Project Templates even work with your integrations. So, if you plan to create CompanyCam projects via an integration as part of your workflow, you ensure all the necessary things are ready for your team in their CompanyCam app.
Follow Along with Checklists
Give the office printer a rest, retire your notes app, and standardize your job processes with Checklists.
Checklists allow you to visit the job from anywhere. From the office, you can see who’s completing the work, what photos they’re uploading, and how much of the checklist they have left to complete.
More than that, project managers tell us they love our checklists because:
They standardize processes. Checklists ensure consistency and quality on all projects, whether an entry-level or expert crew member is on site.
They are fully customizable. You can organize tasks in sections, add details to individual tasks, and require photos for completion.
They give you additional context. You can add multiple choice, rating scales, and more to learn the details without pulling them off the job.
Keep It Organized with Labels & Tags
As your team begins documenting projects, you'll need a system to keep everything organized. That's where Labels and Tags come in.
Labels are for project-level organization. Any project managers who use CompanyCam can create labels for project statuses, such as appointment scheduled, bid complete, in progress, on hold, and lost bid. This allows them to show the project status at a glance for everyone in the account.
Tags help you organize photos, allowing you to search for the exact photo you need. Some commonly used tags include room type, floor level, and materials. You can apply multiple tags to a single photo, making your filtering more precise.
Start Communicating in the App
We often hear from project managers that if it's not in CompanyCam, it's not getting done. They rely on CompanyCam as their source of truth, thanks to these built-in communication features:
Project Comments
Each project has a comments section so everyone assigned can stay current. This is especially useful for high-level updates on job progress.
Pro Tip: Create Groups with different stakeholders so they all get notified simultaneously.
Photo Comments & Annotations
You can leave comments and @mentions on specific photos if you need clarification or more documentation. Because the comments stay attached to the photo, you’ll eliminate the “oh-I-thought-you-meant” situations, slowing down your progress.
Notifications
Turn on notifications to receive real-time updates in the app from your team—including task assignments, checklists, and project updates, as well as mentions and comments. For instant alerts, enable notifications in your phone settings to get banner notifications on your screen.
Add Subcontractors as Collaborators
Do you work with subcontractors? Add them as collaborators so that you can ensure they’re getting work done to your liking. To add collaborators, go to your project and:
Select + Collaborators
Invite a Company
Share/email the link with your subcontractor.
Both you and the collaborating company will be able to see each other’s contributions to the project. If they’re a Premium or Elite user, you can interact with each other’s checklists.
